The sharply dressed, well-spoken, disparagingly camp son of working class Bromley, Tom Allen is a comedian, writer and actor.
He started as a stand up at the age of 22 a since then he has honed his unique style of sharp, acerbic wit and camp, riotous storytelling by performing to audiences all over the UK and around the world.
The last year has been very busy for Tom with him starring in BBC One’s Wedding Day Winners, Ready Or Not, BBC Two’s Mock The Week, Live At The Apollo, Extra Slice, Strictly – It Takes Two, ITV’s Royal Variety Perfomance, Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Comedy Central’s Roast Battle and BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends and Just a Minute.
Marking a decade at the Edinburgh Festival Tom sold out every night (and extra shows) with his show Absolutely which he has since taken on tour receiving critical acclaim and selling out to audiences all over the country. Tom added another 150 dates to the tour this year including twenty-nights at London’s Soho Theatre. Tom is also the co-host of the hugely popular podcast Like Minded Friends.
As an actor he has starred in BBC Radio 4’s Sony Award winning Bleak Expectations, Comedy Central’s Threesome, BBC’s Sensitive Skin with Joanna Lumley and Fear of Fanny with Mark Gatiss and Julia Davis. Film includes Colour Me Kubrick with John Malkovich, Starter for Ten with James McEvoy and the Stephen Frears film, Tamara Drewe. As a teenager he was the youngest member of the Noel Coward Society.
